VITEEE 2006 - Application Procedure

 

  • The cost of application form / Information and Instruction Bulletin with the brochure and the prospectus is Rs.750/-.
  • The application form with enclosures will be issued from 30th January 2006 to 15th March 2006.
    Application Forms can also be submitted on online at www.vit.ac.in.
  • The application forms can be obtained from VIT Office at Vellore and at the Administrative Office, New No. 6, (Old No. W-73), Second Street, Anna Nagar, Chennai – 600 040, by handing over a Demand Draft for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of Vellore Institute of Technology, payable at Vellore.
    Interested candidates can also send the Demand Draft to the Admissions Officer, Vellore Institute of
    Technology, Deemed University, Vellore- 632 014, with a covering letter indicating the full postal address.
  • On receipt of the DD, the application form with enclosures will be sent by post. The postal charges will be borne by the Institute. Candidates are advised to write their name and address on the reverse of the DD.
  • VIT do not accept any self addressed envelope for intimation of any sort of matter.
  • The completed application forms along with all relevant enclosures should reach the Admissions Office on or before 15th March 2006.

    Procedure for applying online

    Step I
     
    a. Obtain a demand draft for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of “Vellore Institute of Technology”
    payable at Vellore
    b. Log on to http://www.vit.ac.in
    c. Click “Apply online”
    Click the “Registration” tab and do the following:
    On agreeing to the terms and conditions, please fill your personal details and click “continue” to
    choose a password and hint question and ‘save and continue” to register.The screen will now
    display your VIT-ID.
    Step II
    On receiving the generated VIT ID, please press the “click here to continue” link. Click the “Education Details” link to fill in your educational details, and follow the instructions below:
    1. Fill the Educational Details by furnishing appropriate details and click save. Please note that it is
    enough if you provide the details of your 12th standard alone.
    2. Please click on the tab “My Form” on top of the page and ensure the status is complete for the
    personal and educational details.3. Please note that your form will be complete and valid only if
    you submit the form by clicking the “Submit” button. After “submitting” you will not be allowed to
    modify your form in any respect.
    Step III
    1.
    Please click the “Payment Advice Form” tab and print the generated form.
    2. Paste your recent passport size photograph, sign in the appropriate box and get the form signed
    by your parent / guardian and finally get it attested by the head of the Institute last studied, in the appropriate box.
    Step IV
    Send the signed “Payment Advice Form” with enclosures (if any) and a DD for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of “Vellore Institute of Technology” payable at Vellore to The Admissions Officer, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore - 632014.
    Step V
    Print the Admit Card for the entrance test, tentatively ten days after your registration is confirmed by email.
    Note: Please keep a photocopy of the “Payment Advice Form” for your reference. You can also print your application form from the “My Form” page.

    Procedure for applying offline 
     

    The Application Form duly filled-in has to be submitted to the VIT Office immediately.

    The city / town in which the candidate wishes to appear for the entrance examination has to be filled by the candidate in block letters against the appropriate box provided for this purpose in the application form.  

    The duly filled in application form should reach the University Office on or before 15th March 2006. Applications received after this date will not be considered for admission.

    The candidate must keep a photocopy of the Application Form for use as reference for future
    correspondence.

    The office will indicate the Institution in which the candidate has to appear for the entrance examination.

    NO request for change of examination centre will be entertained.
