VITEEE 2006 (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examinations)

The objective of the University is to provide quality education to the students of all states of India who are admitted on the basis of their performance. To achieve the above objective, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has been conducting an Entrance Examination for admission to B.Tech. Degree Programmes.  The Entrance Examination for admission to B.Tech. Degree Programmes (2006-2007 batch) will be held on 16th April 2006 (Sunday) in 31 cities across India. This entrance examination is known as VITEEE-2006 (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination – 2006).

Eligibility:

A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks, in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology.

Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the courses.

Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics & Biotechnology Courses.

Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in March / April 2006 are also eligible.

One time Exeption
Candidates who have passed their Higher Secondary Examination (+ 2) in 2005 or earlier, with a minimum average of 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, will be permitted

to appear in VIT Engineering Entrance Examination-2006 (VITEEE-2006) as a last chance.
