Introduction
Appearing for Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET ) is the first step in the process of seeking admission to the Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in Management offered by IITs and IISc.
Currently IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee are offering such Programmes in Management. JMET is being conducted for admission to these Programmes.
The IITs and IISc will use the results of JMET to short list candidates for the subsequent part of the selection process(es). Applicants should note that they have to apply for and send separate application forms to different IITs and IISc as per their choices. An applicant can apply to as many programmes as desired subject to fulfillment of eligibility requirements.

The following are the Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in Management offered at IITs and IISc:
2-year full time Master of Business Administration programme, Department of Management Studies, IISc Bangalore
2-year full time Master of Management programme, IIT Bombay
2-year full time Master of Business Administration programme with focus on Management Systems, 2-year full time Master of Business Administration programme with focus on Telecommunication Systems Management and 3-year part time Master of Business Administration programme (for working executives) with focus on Technology Management, Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi
2-year full time Master of Business Administration programme, Department of Industrial & Management Engineering, IIT Kanpur
2-year full time Master of Business Management programme, Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur
2-year full time Master of Business Administration programme, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras
2-year full time Master of Business Administration programme, Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee

Candidates who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent, or a Master’s degree in any discipline can appear for the JMET examination. Students appearing for the final examinations of the above mentioned qualifying degrees can also apply. Eligibility criteria to apply for the Management Programmes of the individual Institutes are given low.
IISc Bangalore: B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in any branch of Engineering with at least Second Class.
IIT Bombay: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering with First Class or Postgraduate degree in Science with First Class.
IIT Delhi: 60% marks in aggregate of all the years/semesters (55% for SC/ST) or 6.75/10 CGPA (6.25/10 for SC/ST) in Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ BSc Agri. Engg. or Master’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational/Information
Science and Agriculture for the 2-year full time MBA programme. Additionally at least two years of relevant work experience by 1st August 2004 is required for 3-year part time MBA programme for working executives.
IIT Kanpur: B.E./B.Tech. in any branch of engineering or equivalent with First Class.
IIT Kharagpur: First Class Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology or Master’s degree in Science (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) or First Class in Master’s degree in Economics/Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level).
IIT Madras: B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent with First Class or equivalent from a recognized Institution or University. A Master’s degree with First Class or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized Institution or University.
IIT Roorkee: Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in any discipline of Engineering / Technology or its equivalent or a Master’s degree in any discipline, from a recognised Institute/University with atleast 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) in aggregate or CGPA of 6.75/10 (6.25/10 for SC/ST) are eligible to apply.
Reservation: 15% seats for SC and 7.5% seats for ST candidates are reserved. Reservation for other categories, if any, is as per the Government of India rules followed at the admitting Institutes
