Post Graduate Programme in Communications Management (PGPCM) 2006 - 2008
The Post-Graduate Programme in Communications Management (PGPCM) is the flagship programme of MICA. It is a two-year residential programme that is recognized by the industry as a breakthrough in the study of integrated marketing communications management in India.
Eligibility To be eligible for the PGPCM, the basic qualification required is a three-year Bachelor's degree (as in the 10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates appearing for the final examination of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) can also apply.
Students with demonstrable aptitude for conceiving, expressing or assessing ideas that move people to action and achieve business results, will stand better chances of being selected.
Application Forms Applications will be available in the select branches of HDFC, IMS & SBI. Please send the duly filled in application form downloaded from the site with a draft for Rs. 1,300/- in favour of Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, payable at Ahmedabad, to the Admission Office, MICA, latest by 12th December, 2005 for CAT applicants and 7th January, 2006 for XAT / GMAT applicants.
Selection Procedure The selection process for the PGPCM involves three steps: -
CAT/ XAT/ GMAT All candidates seeking admission to the PGPCM are required to take CAT/ XAT/ GMAT as the first step. NRIs and Foreign Nationals are eligible to sit for the MICA Test (MICAT) without taking CAT / XAT with a minimum GMAT score of 600. CAT/ XAT/ GMAT scores from up to two years prior to the current year will also be accepted. a) If you are applying on the basis of an old score, please enclose photocopy of your scorecard. b) If you are taking CAT / XAT / GMAT in the current year, please send a copy of your admit card.
MICA Test (MICAT) The candidates who are short-listed from the CAT/ XAT/ GMAT are subsequently required to appear for the MICAT, which is conducted usually in February of each year. The MICAT is designed to assess the candidates' skills in analytical and divergent thinking, written communication and familiarity with the Indian ethos.
The MICAT centres are Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
Group Exercise and Interview
All candidates invited for the MICAT are required to participate in Group Exercise (GE), and to go through Personal Interview (PI), which happens on the same day as MICAT.
