Masters Program in International Business (MPIB) Academic Year 2006-08
It is a two-year full-time residential course. It is an intensive course specifically designed for a rewarding career in management, globally. Students from diverse academic backgrounds: engineering, pharmacy, physics, mathematics, biotechnology, economics, commerce, etc., provide a wholesome tone to this unique and interactive program. The program is a unique blend of theory and practices in business, both domestic and international.
Eligibility
Graduates (12 years + 3 years) from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in graduation. (This is the minimum percentage that must appear on the graduation Degree certificate and mark list). Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam in April 2006 may also apply. Admission of such candidates will be provisional and will be automatically cancelled in the event of non-fulfillment of the above requirements, or if the degree certificates are not produced before October 2006.
Additional Eligibility conditions for Industry Sponsored Category Candidate may be an employee, being selected for fast-track movement by the organization, or
Candidate may be son / daughter of proprietor / owner / senior executive, in an organization / Industry (Public or Private) and should be sponsored by that organization
Sponsoring company must undertake to offer / arrange for the candidate's summer and final placement. Students sponsored by Limited companies with turnover more than Rs. 25 crores will be given preference. (Application should be only as per the given format and should be on the letterhead of the Sponsoring Company)
Additional Eligibility conditions for NRI / Foreign Nationals Category Candidates with NRI Parentage This category is for those Candidates of NRI parentage, who are studying in India. Such candidates would be required to attach proof of their parents' NRI status (copies of relevant pages of parents' passports, along with the overseas employer's certificate issued to parents). Admission to this category is through SNAP. International Students: Comprises of a) Foreign Nationals: those who hold foreign passports. b) Non-Resident Indians: those who have passed their last qualifying exam outside India. c) PIOs: Persons of Indian Origin (as per Government of India's definition). Candidates may apply for admission in any of the above categories subject to fulfilling the respective eligibility conditions.
Checking of Eligibility Eligibility for the category will be checked at the time of GD / PI. All requisite documents should be submitted at that time. Any candidate included in the merit list, but not fulfilling eligibility criteria, will automatically lose his/her candidature. Preference: Engineering graduates, graduates from disciplines like Pharmacy, Biotechnology & CA / CFA / ICWA/ CS (completed) will be given preference. Work experience of more than one year and less than 4 years will also be granted preference.
How to Apply Registration for SNAP Test is compulsory. Appear for SNAP Test on Sunday, 18th December, 2005. Apply on-line at www.siib.ac.in and follow instructions and forward SIIB's Online Registration print out to SIIB. Application in Multiple Categories The purchase of the prospectus entitles the candidate to apply in any one category. However, candidates may apply in more than one category, on payment of Rs. 500/- for every additional category chosen, provided the eligibility conditions for the concerned category are fulfilled (eg. An NRI candidate may, if eligible, apply for the sponsored and open category on additional payment of Rs. 1000/- to register in all three categories) .
Selection Process Phase-I: Candidate has to appear for SNAP Test on 18th December 2005. The SNAP test score will be one of the parameters for short-listing the candidates for GD/PI. Other parameters include academic background and work experience. Phase-II: Group Discussion, Personal Interviews, Group Test & Written Communication Test. The Group Discussion will be based on a case study which will be followed by personal interview. The Group Test would evaluate the soft skills required in a managerial position. Final Selection: The final selection of students will be based on the performance in Phase I and Phase II. The weightage will be as follows: - Written Test: 40% Group Discussion: 20% Interviews: 20% Written Communication: 10% Group Test: 10%
