A single entrance test for Symbiosis Autonomous Postgraduate Programmes

Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is the common written test required for the admission processes of Symbiosis Postgraduate Institutes.
Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is applicable for: -

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM)
Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies & Research (SICSR)
Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication (SIMC)
Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB)
Symbiosis Centre of Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD)
Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS)
Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management (SITM)
Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT)
Symbiosis Institute of Geo-informatics (SIG)
Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM)

It is a mandatory written test for admission into any postgraduate programme at Symbiosis. However, it is only the first step. Each Symbiosis institute has its independent selection process. A student aspiring to pursue a postgraduate programme at Symbiosis needs to follow the 3 stages mentioned below: -

Stage-1: Take the SNAP Test.
(Online Registration & Test Fee Payment + Admit Card with Photograph attached + Photo-identity for verification + Appearing for the Test)

Register online.
Follow the payment instructions given on the SNAP website (www.snaptest.org) & make payment of Rs. 500/- towards the non-refundable test fee.

Print your Admit Card from the SNAP website on any date between 28 Nov. & 17 Dec. 2005 midnight (after the close of Registrations). Please note that this Admit card is mandatory & compulsorily required at the Test Centre.

Paste your own (candidate taking the SNAP test) photograph on the Admit Card. Kindly ensure that this is a latest passport size photograph.

Bring the Admit card with the photograph to the Test Centre, in addition to a photo-identity. An acceptable photo identity is any one of: -
o Passport
o Driving license
o College / Institute identity card
o Credit card with photograph.

At the test centre at the time of the written test, it is mandatory to produce any one of the photo identities listed above. A Symbiosis Authorized Person will verify and authenticate your Admit Card against the photo-identity presented by you. Kindly note that any candidate not producing a satisfactory photo-identity will not be allowed to take the SNAP test. The decision of the Symbiosis Authorized Person is final in this regard.

Please preserve this Authenticated Admit Card for further selection processes of individual Symbiosis Institutes.

Appear for the Test on 18th Dec 2005.

Stage-2: Submit Application Form/s to chosen Symbiosis Institute/s.

A candidate seeking admission to a particular Symbiosis institute/s needs to apply separately to that institute/s.
The candidate needs to purchase the prospectuses & application forms of the chosen institute/s by following the instructions given on their respective website/s.
The candidate needs to fill in the application form/s completely and submit the completed application form/s to the institute/s.
A candidate can apply to more than one Symbiosis institute.

Stage-3: Attend the call for further selection process of the chosen institutes.
Each institute has its own weightage for arriving at a cut-off, depending on its focused field. For example, SIMC may have lower weightage for Quantitative Section while SCIT or SICSR may have a higher weightage for the same section.
Each institute will independently announce a short list of candidates selected for attending its further selection process.
The individual institutes as per their schedules will announce Merit Lists & Waiting Lists.

How to Apply
Register online at www.snaptest.org. SNAP Test Bulletin can be obtained by payment of Rs. 500/-. Please follow the payment instructions on the website.

Note: Symbiosis reserves the right to change or cancel any test centre at its discretion.

Online Registration Begins: Monday, August 22, 2005
Last Date for Registration: Saturday, November 26, 2005
Payment Closes on Wednesday, November 30, 2005
SNAP Test 2005 Sunday, December 18, 2005. Time - 2pm to 4pm
Announcement of Result: Tuesday, January 7, 2006
