ALL INDIA PRE-VETERINARY TEST-2006 Eligibility

Qualifying Examination:

(i) A candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination ( after a period of 12 years of study) the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training or equivalent qualification as prescribed in the Veterinary Council of India - Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education –Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H) Regulations, 1993.

OR

Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. examination from a recognised University with not less than two of the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/ Zoology), and has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

(ii)To be eligible for appearing in entrance examination, the candidates must have passed the qualifying Examination obtaining not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. In respect of candidates belonging to the SC/ST or other special category of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required at the qualifying examination shall be 10% less than that prescribed for general category.

(iii)A candidate who is taking up the qualifying examination prior to the Entrance Examination, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the B.V.Sc. &A.H. Programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as prescribed at 3(ii) above, on or before 30th June, 2006 and submit the documentary proof during counseling, if selected.

(i) The candidate has attained or will attain age of seventeen (17) years on 31st December, 2006
