GCET MCA Eligibility Criteria

1 Candidates graduated from a University recognised and located in Gujarat State are eligible to appear for GCET.

2 Candidates who have graduated in a 3-year course from a University outside Gujarat State but have passed Std. XII or its equivalent examination from a recognised school located in Gujarat State are also eligible to appear for GCET.

3 The candidates must have passed Std. XIIth (HSC Examination) or its equivalent examination with Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects.

4 The candidates must have passed graduation in any discipline, including BCA course, from a University located in the State of Gujarat. Graduates who have done BCA from Universities of Gujarat will be considered eligible for admission to MCA, even if they have not taken Mathematics/Business Maths/
Statistics as one of the subjects at XIIth Std.

5 A candidate who has appeared at the final year (Bachelor’s Degree) examination of any University recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (subject to condition 1 to 4) shall be treated as provisionally eligible for GCET.

6 Non-resident Gujarati (NRG) candidates passing the qualifying examination from States other than Gujarat and Gujarati-NRI candidates shall be eligible for admission to management quota of private unaided institutes only. Such candidates are required to qualify in GCET 2005 examination.

(a) Non-resident Gujarati candidates will have to produce documents such as school leaving certificate or birth certificate or passport of one of the parents to prove that the parent was born in Gujarat OR a domicile certificate from Gujarat in the name of father, mother or the applicant at the time of application. If the State Government stipulates production of any other document/s, the same shall have to be done.

(b) Gujarati-NRI candidates will be NRI candidates as per the Income-tax Act. Further they will be Gujarati candidates also and will have to produce documents as specified in (6 - a) above.

7 The wards of Kashmiri Migrants fulfilling the eligibility conditions 3 to 5 above may also apply. The domicile requirements as specified in 1 and 2 above will be waived.
