Entrance test for admission to Master pf Computer Applications (MCA) in the following National Institute of Technologies (NITs)

National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are premier Technical Institutions of National repute with Deemed University status. NITs are fully funded by Govt. of India. Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course is one of the most sought after courses offered in the NITs and has a high job potential in the Software houses in India and abroad. The NIMCET is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by NITs for admission to the MCA course offered by NITs. The first common admission test NIMCET-05 was conducted in 2005. About 13,000 candidates appeared for NIMCET-05 for 420 seats available in NITs. The admission to MCA programme for the year 2006 -07 in all the NITs will be based on the rank obtained in NIMCET-06 ONLY

Eligibility

Candidates with an aggregate (all subjects put together) of 60% marks ( 6.5/10 CGPA) in Bachelor’s degree of minimum duration of 3 years from a recognized University in any discipline, with Mathematics as one of the subjects both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible. Those candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examinations in 2006 are also eligible to appear for the test. However, they will have to furnish proof of having passed in the qualifying examination, with an aggregate of 60% marks, at the time of counselling / admission. Indian Nationals only are eligible to appear for the NIMCET-06.
